In a groundbreaking move to promote financial inclusion and boost support for smallholder farmers, Fatima Fertilizer Company Limited and Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) have entered into a strategic partnership. This collaboration, the first of its kind in the agricultural sector, aims to integrate farmers into the formal financial system while providing them with crucial agricultural resources and innovative solutions to enhance productivity and improve livelihoods.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Mr. Asad Murad, Chief Operating Officer of Fatima Fertilizer Company Limited, and Mr. Tahir Yaqoob Bhatti, President & CEO of ZTBL, in a formal ceremony attended by senior officials from both organizations. This landmark agreement marks a significant step forward in addressing Pakistan’s agricultural challenges, while empowering smallholder farmers across the country.

Mr. Asad Murad, Chief Operating Officer of Fatima Fertilizer, highlighted the significance of the partnership, stating, “This MoU strengthens our mission to provide smallholder farmers with the tools they need to improve productivity and contribute to Pakistan’s food security. Fatima Fertilizer was represented at the signing ceremony by Ms. Rabel Sadozai, Director of Marketing & Sales; Mr. Usman Arshad Mian, Head of Planning & Business Integration; Mr. Raja Shakir Khan, Manager of Planning & Business Integration; Mr. Hessan Amin, Lead for Digital Projects; and Mr. Abdullah Khalid, Assistant Manager of BI & Digitization.

Echoing the sentiment, Mr. Tahir Yaqoob Bhatti, President & CEO of ZTBL, said, “ZTBL is committed to empowering farmers through financial inclusion. Representing ZTBL were Mr. Zahid Hussain, Group Head of Business; Mr. Sulman A. Shah, Head of Product Development & Liability Management Division; and Mr. Arshad Hassan Awan, Head of Credit Division.
