Meezan Bank Partners with Rural Community Development Programmes (RCDP) for Shariah Technical Services and Support
Lahore – In a significant move to enhance Shariah-compliant financial services in rural areas, Meezan Bank has signed an agreement with Rural Community Development Programmes (RCDP). The agreement will see Meezan Bank’s Shariah Advisory Unit providing extensive Shariah technical services and support to RCDP.
The agreement entails several key services, including:
- Review of Business Structure: Comprehensive assessment and alignment of RCDP’s business structure, policies, and procedures to ensure Shariah compliance.
- Development of Shariah-Compliant Products: Creation and implementation of financial products that adhere to Shariah principles.
- Capacity Building and Training: Training programs aimed at enhancing the understanding and implementation of Shariah-compliant financial practices within RCDP.
- Shariah Consultancy: Ongoing advisory support for day-to-day business operations to maintain Shariah compliance.
The signing ceremony took place at the RCDP Head Office in Lahore and was attended by senior representatives from both organizations. Notable attendees included Mr. Urooj ul Hasan Khan, General Manager of Corporate, Investment Banking, and Shariah Advisory at Meezan Bank, and Mr. Muhammad Murtaza, CEO of RCDP.
This collaboration marks a strategic effort to integrate Shariah principles into rural community development, fostering economic growth while adhering to Islamic financial standards.
