KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) will celebrate Women Entrepreneurship Day (WED) on November 19, 2024, with an event aimed at recognizing and promoting the vital role of women entrepreneurs in the country’s economy.
The event will be inaugurated by SBP Governor Jameel Ahmad at the SBP headquarters and will gather top officials from banks, non-bank financial institutions, and representatives from women’s business associations. The celebration will highlight the contributions of women entrepreneurs across Pakistan and encourage further support for female-led businesses.
A key highlight of the event will be the presentation of awards to high-performing banks that have shown exceptional commitment to extending loans to female borrowers. Additionally, women-led businesses from various sectors will be honored for their achievements in the entrepreneurial landscape.
The celebration will feature a series of both on-ground and virtual activities across the country. Commercial banks will collaborate to introduce tailored financial products specifically designed for women-led enterprises. The event will also include workshops, awareness campaigns on SBP’s SME financing initiatives, and mentorship programs aimed at empowering aspiring businesswomen and enhancing their access to finance.
By spotlighting these initiatives, the SBP hopes to further support women entrepreneurs in overcoming challenges and contributing to Pakistan’s economic growth.
