New global fintech platform to begin operations from Pakistan, with plans to expand across emerging fintech markets worldwide
LAHORE, PAKISTAN — August 13 2026: A group of fintech and industry professionals has signed an agreement to launch Nexus Fintech Forum, a global fintech industry platform that will begin its operations in Pakistan before expanding gradually into emerging fintech markets around the world.
The Forum has been established by four Co-Founders, Qasim Qazi, Owais Mukhtar, Rai Salahuddin and Ramish Ali, who will jointly lead the initiative across their respective domains.
According to the Founders’ Agreement, the platform is being established as a global fintech industry body designed to bridge the gap between fintech companies, banks, regulators and investors through advocacy, convening, research, facilitation and ecosystem development. The four Founders will initially hold equal ownership and voting rights in the venture.
Nexus Fintech Forum aims to serve as a bridge between fintechs, banks, regulators and investors, creating platforms and opportunities for collaboration, knowledge sharing, partnerships and ecosystem development.
Building a Fintech Ecosystem from Pakistan to the world
The Forum will initially focus on Pakistan, leveraging the country’s rapidly developing digital financial services and fintech ecosystem as a launchpad for its international ambitions.
Over time, Nexus Fintech Forum plans to establish its presence across emerging fintech regions, creating a connected network of founders, financial institutions, regulators, investors, academics, technology companies and ecosystem partners.
The Forum’s major areas of activity will include:
- Fintech Event Series — conferences, forums, roundtables, industry gatherings and curated stakeholder discussions.
- Fintech Podcast — conversations with fintech founders, executives, regulators, investors and ecosystem leaders.
- Research & Intelligence — industry research, market studies, policy research, sector reports and data-driven insights.
- Fintech Media — content and media initiatives designed to increase visibility and knowledge sharing across the fintech ecosystem.
- Academia & Knowledge Development — collaboration with universities, researchers and academic institutions to bridge industry and academia.
- Training & Capacity Building — professional learning, executive sessions and sector-focused training initiatives.
- Collaboration & Partnerships — facilitating meaningful connections among fintechs, banks, regulators, investors and other stakeholders.
- Fintech Ecosystem Building — developing platforms, communities and initiatives that help accelerate innovation, investment and collaboration.
Nexus Fintech Forum will focus on practical connections that can help fintech innovation move from ideas to implementation, including partnerships between fintechs and financial institutions, regulatory engagement, research, industry roundtables, investor engagement, knowledge development and ecosystem collaboration.
A Platform for the Entire Fintech Ecosystem
Rather than focusing on a single stakeholder group, Nexus Fintech Forum will bring together the key participants needed to develop sustainable fintech markets.
For fintech companies, the Forum aims to provide access to financial institutions, regulators, investors, research and industry networks.
For banks and financial institutions, Nexus will facilitate access to partnership opportunities, fintech innovation and market intelligence.
For regulators and policymakers, the Forum aims to create channels for evidence-based industry dialogue, research and policy consultation.
For investors, the platform will facilitate access to fintech opportunities, sector intelligence and market insights.
Qasim Qazi, Co-Founder, Nexus Fintech Forum, said:
“Our ambition is to build a global fintech ecosystem platform from Pakistan, connecting markets, people and ideas through events, media, research, academia, training and strategic collaboration.”
Owais Mukhtar, Co-Founder, Nexus Fintech Forum, said:
“The future of fintech depends on stronger collaboration between fintechs, financial institutions, regulators and investors. Nexus will create the platforms and connections needed to turn collaboration into meaningful opportunities.”
Rai Salahuddin Ahmad, Co-Founder, Nexus Fintech Forum, said:
“Research, knowledge and industry-academia collaboration are essential for sustainable fintech growth. Nexus will create opportunities for research, training, dialogue and knowledge sharing across the ecosystem.”
Ramish Ali, Co-Founder, Nexus Fintech Forum, said:
“Our aims to move beyond conversations and create tangible outcomes through partnerships, innovation and ecosystem building. We will start from Pakistan and gradually expand this model into emerging fintech markets globally.”
From Pakistan to Emerging Fintech Markets
The Founders intend for Nexus Fintech Forum to operate as a global platform while maintaining strong roots in the markets where it operates.
The Founders’ Agreement states that the company’s principal objectives include facilitating dialogue between fintech companies, financial regulators and investors, alongside policy advocacy, research, membership, events and advisory activities.
The Forum will also develop dedicated initiatives and communities for different participants in the ecosystem, creating opportunities for startups, investors, experts, students, academics and industry professionals to participate in the development of local and international fintech ecosystems.
Its initiatives will include recurring fintech events, roundtables, research activities, podcasts, training programs, academic engagement and collaboration opportunities, creating multiple channels for the ecosystem to engage throughout the year.
A Long-Term Ecosystem-Building Mission
The C-Founders said Nexus Fintech Forum will focus on building a sustainable platform rather than simply creating another event brand.
The long-term vision is to establish a connected global fintech community where innovation, capital, policy, knowledge and partnerships can move across markets more efficiently.
Beginning in Pakistan, the Forum aims to progressively establish activities and partnerships in other emerging fintech regions, ultimately creating a global network that connects local ecosystems with international opportunities.
