Wateen Telecom has announced a strategic partnership with The Bank of Punjab (BOP) to jointly establish an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Factory, a transformative initiative aimed at accelerating digital transformation and AI-driven innovation across Pakistan’s banking industry.
The agreement was formalized during a signing ceremony attended by senior leadership from both organizations, including Mr. Adil Rashid, CEO of Wateen, and Mr. Faisal Ejaz Khan, Chief Information Officer at BOP.
The collaboration underscores a shared commitment to building future-ready AI ecosystems that enhance operational efficiency, customer engagement, and secure digital infrastructure within the financial sector. Leveraging Wateen’s capabilities in digital infrastructure alongside BOP’s customer-centric approach to banking, the AI Factory is set to become a key enabler of intelligent automation and innovation-led growth.
Under this initiative, both entities will focus on designing scalable, secure, and intelligent digital frameworks tailored to the evolving needs of modern banking. These frameworks are expected to support real-time decision-making, strengthen risk management systems, and deliver personalized customer experiences — thereby contributing to increased public trust and confidence in Pakistan’s financial institutions.
The launch of the AI Factory marks a significant step toward modernizing the country’s financial ecosystem through technology and aligns with national ambitions for digital advancement and sustainable economic development.
