Ignite – National Technology Fund to Launch Pakistan Venture Fund to Boost Startup Ecosystem

Ignite National Technology Fund, operating under the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, has initiated a process to engage firms for establishing and managing the Pakistan Venture Fund (PVF), a new initiative aimed at strengthening the country’s technology and startup ecosystem.

According to the announcement, the proposed venture fund will focus on improving access to early-stage financing for startups, enabling innovative companies to scale their ideas and compete in the digital economy. The initiative is designed to address the funding gaps often faced by emerging technology ventures and to encourage greater private sector participation in Pakistan’s growing startup landscape.

Ignite, a public sector organization tasked with supporting innovation and technological advancement in Pakistan, plans to operate the venture fund through a professional fund management structure. The selected fund manager will be responsible for identifying high-potential startups and supporting them not only with capital but also with strategic guidance to accelerate growth.

Interested firms have been invited to submit their applications within the stipulated timeline as part of the initial selection process. Following the completion of the evaluation process, the selected firm or consortium will move forward with the establishment and management of the fund.

The initiative represents another step in Pakistan’s broader efforts to strengthen its knowledge-based economy and support digital innovation by facilitating better access to venture capital for technology entrepreneurs.
