PITB, MCB Bank, and Mastercard Partner to Digitize Government Payments in Pakistan – Fintech News Pakistan

In a groundbreaking move to revolutionize financial transactions within the public sector, the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), MCB Bank, and Mastercard have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to digitize payments in Pakistan. The agreement was signed by PITB ADG Khurram Mushtaq and MCB Bank Group Head Shahzad Ishaq, marking a significant step towards enhancing the efficiency, transparency, and security of online payments to various government and private institutions throughout the country.

The signing ceremony witnessed the presence of key officials including PITB Project Director Haroon Rasul Khokhar, Joint Directors Syed Ijlal Hussain and Shehzad Mehmood, SPM Aamir Ali Khan, PM Umer Saleem, and PR Executive Omar Akhtar. From MCB Bank, Head of Payment Solutions Imran Yousaf, Group Head of Operations Kashif Ali, Division Head of Operations Abdul Jawad Khan, Unit Head of e-Commerce Saba Afzal, Relationship Manager of e-Commerce Ali Nasim, Department Head of Marketing Humaid Merchant, and Manager Marketing Najaf Zahra attended the event.

This strategic partnership is poised to enhance the accessibility and user-friendliness of the payment process for the citizens of Pakistan. PITB’s PayZen will act as the primary interface for both government and private payments, ensuring a streamlined and transparent process. This collaboration is expected to significantly contribute to the digitization efforts in Pakistan, making financial transactions more secure and efficient.
