Lahore, Pakistan – The LUMS Centre for Entrepreneurship (LCE) has announced the induction of its first-ever cohorts for two flagship programmes: the LCE Idea Launch Incubation programme and the Slingshot Accelerator programme. Both initiatives aim to foster a robust entrepreneurial ecosystem in Pakistan, supporting start-ups at different stages of their development.
The LCE Idea Launch Incubation programme is tailored to nurture early-stage founders embarking on their entrepreneurial journeys. Designed to provide crucial foundational support, the programme offers participants access to co-working spaces, the Makers Lab for prototyping, and training modules that equip them with the skills needed to build and grow their ventures. Through this programme, start-ups also benefit from networking opportunities with established entrepreneurs and industry experts, as well as specialized guest sessions aimed at enhancing their entrepreneurial knowledge.
The Slingshot Accelerator programme, on the other hand, is structured to propel revenue-generating start-ups ready for expansion. Focused on accelerating growth, this programme provides access to strategic mentorship from industry leaders, customized resources, hands-on workshops, and invaluable connections to investors. Participants gain practical insights to boost revenue and prepare for funding opportunities, setting them on a path toward scaling their operations.
As a highlight, start-ups from both programmes will have the opportunity to showcase their ventures at the Investor Summit at the end of their training. This summit will bring together a panel of investors, successful founders, and venture capitalists, offering participants a valuable platform to secure funding, establish strategic partnerships, and receive critical feedback to drive growth.
The inaugural cohorts consist of 25 start-ups in the LCE Idea Launch Incubation programme and 10 in the Slingshot Accelerator, selected from a highly competitive pool of applicants across Pakistan. Representing diverse sectors, these start-ups are tackling pressing challenges across educational technology, artificial intelligence, sustainability, financial services, and more. Through LCE’s support, these innovators are poised to drive impactful change in their respective industries.
Integral to LCE’s success in these entrepreneurial initiatives is its close collaboration with the LUMS community, including students, alumni, and faculty. Many from the LUMS community serve as participants, mentors, and guest speakers, fostering a rich exchange of knowledge and expertise. Notably, faculty-led start-ups are also part of the cohorts, underscoring LCE’s commitment to blending academic insight with real-world entrepreneurial practice.
In the coming months, LCE plans to host a series of events and workshops to further support these start-ups, including demo days, networking mixers, and specialized training sessions.
