dLocal and inDrive Strengthen Strategic Partnership to Revolutionize Payment Solutions in Emerging Markets

Partnership to Provide Seamless, Localized Payment Access Across 20+ Countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America

dLocal, a leading cross-border payment platform focused on emerging markets, has announced a major expansion of its strategic partnership with inDrive, a global mobility and urban services platform. This collaboration aims to address critical financial inclusion and payment challenges in the ride-hailing sector, especially in markets like Pakistan, where efficient fund repatriation and reliable wallet top-up options are essential for drivers’ day-to-day operations.

The partnership, which began in 2021, focuses on delivering tailored payment solutions for inDrive’s expansive user base across over 20 regions in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. As demand for alternative payment methods (APMs) continues to rise globally, dLocal’s latest initiative aims to empower inDrive drivers with instant access to wallet top-ups, supporting payment methods such as EasyPaisa and JazzCash in Pakistan. Similar initiatives have been rolled out in Peru with Yape, Indonesia with QRIS, and Colombia with leading local players, providing inDrive drivers a seamless in-app wallet funding experience in line with local needs.

The ride-hailing sector faces unique operational challenges, particularly in markets with a large unbanked population. In Pakistan alone, an estimated 100 million adults lack access to formal banking services, according to World Bank data on financial inclusion. dLocal and inDrive’s partnership addresses these issues by offering drivers real-time payment notifications and top-up options that are integral to ensuring operational efficiency. For drivers transacting over 10 times daily, timely access to earnings significantly impacts their livelihoods.

“This collaboration with dLocal allows us to offer a smoother, more dependable ride-hailing experience for inDrive drivers, especially in markets like Pakistan, where financial services are limited for much of the population,” said Vasiliy Everstov, Head of Fintech at inDrive. “By providing instant access to funds and a reliable payment infrastructure, we reinforce our commitment to empowering drivers and enhancing their daily work experience.”

The partnership reflects dLocal’s commitment to promoting financial inclusion in emerging markets by simplifying payment access and enabling flexible, localized solutions. “Our collaboration with inDrive is transformative for the mobility sector,” said Diego Halegua, Head of Account Management EMEA at dLocal. “By delivering tailored payment solutions, we’re not only meeting the financial inclusion needs in these regions but also reshaping how drivers access their earnings. Together, we’re building a future where every transaction is seamless and empowering.”

Through their strengthened alliance, dLocal and inDrive continue to lead the way in enhancing the ride-hailing experience by addressing the unique payment needs of emerging markets.
