Askari Bank Accelerates Transition to Shariah-Compliant Banking Across Pakistan

Islamabad: Askari Bank Limited has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening Pakistan’s economy by accelerating its transition toward a stable, ethical, and inclusive financial system through the expansion of Shariah-compliant banking services.

Islamic Banking is now available across all branches of Askari Bank, marking a significant milestone in the Bank’s transformation journey. The initiative aligns with the State Bank of Pakistan’s Vision 2028 and complies with the directives of the Federal Shariah Court, supporting the national objective of expanding the Islamic financial system in the country.

Commenting on the development, Zia Ijaz, President and Chief Executive Officer of Askari Bank, stated that the Bank has made substantial progress in its Islamic Banking rollout. He shared that half of Askari Bank’s nationwide branch network has been fully converted to Islamic Banking, while the remaining branches are operating dedicated Islamic Banking Windows offering Shariah-compliant deposit products.

“This achievement reflects the dedication and agility of our team and reinforces our commitment to delivering ethical, inclusive, and customer-centric financial solutions across Pakistan,” he said.

Through the expansion of Islamic Banking, Askari Bank aims to enhance financial inclusion, promote sustainable economic growth, and contribute meaningfully to Pakistan’s evolving financial landscape.
