Pakistan to roll out “Prime Minister’s Cloud Program” to Support Tech Startups

Islamabad: The government has launched the Prime Minister’s Cloud Program for Startups, a new initiative aimed at helping Pakistan’s technology startups adopt, optimize, and scale using cloud infrastructure.

The one-year program is being implemented by Ignite – National Technology Fund under the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunications (MoITT). It is designed to reduce early-stage infrastructure costs, improve cloud utilization, and foster a sustainable cloud ecosystem across the country.

Under the initiative, eligible startups will receive tier-based cloud cost reimbursements of up to 60 percent, alongside structured technical guidance to support cloud adoption, optimization, and responsible scaling. The program will operate through a tiered reimbursement model, targeted technical enablement, and close collaboration with both local and global Cloud Service Providers (CSPs).

Ignite clarified that applications are open to all startups, not limited to those affiliated with its National Incubation Centres (NICs). Selected startups will also gain opportunities to collaborate directly with interested CSPs, strengthening ecosystem-level support and access to global cloud expertise.

The initiative seeks to address key barriers to cloud adoption for early-stage companies, enabling them to build scalable and cost-efficient technology platforms.

In addition, Ignite has issued a call for experienced cloud and technology professionals to join the program as mentors. The fund is inviting seasoned experts to help evaluate and select high-potential startups, provide guidance on cloud architecture and cost optimization, and facilitate effective collaboration between startups and CSPs.

Applications to participate in the program as an expert mentor are open until December 31, 2025.
