Pakistan’s Wedding Tech Startup Shadiyana Secures $800,000 Pre-Seed Funding from Indus Valley Capital

Pakistan-based wedding technology startup Shadiyana has raised $800,000 in pre-seed funding, led by Indus Valley Capital (IVC), to accelerate platform development and bring greater structure to the country’s sprawling Rs. 900 billion wedding industry.

Shadiyana has rapidly emerged as a leading player in Pakistan’s wedding-tech space, with over 500,000 users, 600+ vendors, and 30,000 weddings planned through the platform. The startup is now expanding beyond Islamabad into Lahore and Karachi, strengthening its presence across major metropolitan markets.

“We get a rush from every new booking,” said Neelam Shoaib, Co-Founder and COO of Shadiyana. “That passion is exactly what’s fueling the Shadiyana Wedding Planner App, built to transform Pakistan’s grand yet inefficient wedding ecosystem into something seamless, smart, and truly ubiquitous.”

The inspiration for Shadiyana came from deeply personal experiences. Neelam first recognized the challenge years ago when she fell ill during her sister’s wedding due to the overwhelming workload. Years later, she and Co-Founder & CEO Izzah Zaman—both software engineers—identified an opportunity to build a modern, localized solution for a traditionally chaotic industry.

“Coming from working-class backgrounds, the obvious path was to choose stable jobs and enjoy weekends,” Izzah shared. “But we loved building things and losing ourselves in that process.” Their unconventional backgrounds, coupled with their experiences as women and industry outsiders, gave them a unique lens to rethink how wedding planning should work.

Shadiyana’s newly launched Wedding Planner App is Pakistan’s first end-to-end digital wedding planning platform, allowing couples to discover, book, and manage vendors anywhere in the country. The app offers real-time access to resources, management tools, and seamless communication channels, transforming how families navigate wedding preparations.

“Shadiyana is bringing order, transparency, and trust to one of Pakistan’s largest but most underserved industries,” said Aatif Awan, Managing Partner at Indus Valley Capital. “Their customer obsession and founder-market fit make them exactly the kind of team we love to back. We’re excited to partner with them in building the country’s leading wedding platform.”

With millions of weddings celebrated annually and a multi-billion-rupee market, Shadiyana aims to scale rapidly. The startup plans to expand its vendor network in more cities, introduce new technology-driven planning tools, and grow its team.

As it enters its next phase of growth, Shadiyana remains committed to fostering innovation, collaboration, and a mission-driven culture—attracting talent passionate about shaping the future of wedding planning in Pakistan.
