Link International Exchange Joins Hands with SBP to Launch QR-Based Payments under Raast Program at their 75 Branches Nationwide

Lahore, October 2025 — In a major milestone toward advancing Pakistan’s digital payment ecosystem, Link International Exchange Company (Pvt.) Ltd., one of the country’s largest and most trusted exchange companies, has partnered with the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) to introduce QR code–based payment services under the national Raast Person-to-Person (P2P) program.

This landmark initiative marks a significant step in Link Exchange’s journey toward digitalization and a cashless economy, offering customers a seamless, secure, and zero-fee payment experience. Established in 2012 as a Category-A full-option exchange company licensed by SBP, Link International Exchange operates a network of over 75 fully owned branches nationwide, providing international home remittance and foreign currency exchange services to millions of Pakistanis across the country.

The collaboration allows both merchants and consumers to make instant and interoperable payments through standardized QR codes developed under SBP’s guidelines and implemented by Raast, in coordination with 13 merchant aggregators. These QR codes are universally compatible across banks and payment platforms, ensuring greater accessibility, transparency, and financial inclusion.

“This partnership reflects our commitment to supporting Pakistan’s digital transformation,” said Mr. Saleem Amjad, CEO of Link International Exchange. “By adopting the Raast framework introduced by the State Bank of Pakistan, we are empowering businesses and individuals to transact with greater ease, security, and transparency.”

Link International Exchange Company, by adopting these digital products, aims to combat money laundering and the grey market, channeling more foreign exchange into legal avenues to strengthen Pakistan’s reserves and support the vision of the State Bank of Pakistan and the Prime Minister for a progressive and transparent financial ecosystem.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by Chief Guest Mr. Tariq Riaz, Chief Manager, State Bank of Pakistan, BSC Lahore, and Mr. Sarfaraz, Deputy Chief Manager, along with their team. Representatives from Bank AL Habib, Bank Alfalah, UBL Bank, and Soneri Bank also participated in the event.

The ceremony was further attended by renowned personalities from government departments, various sectors, and the media, who appreciated and commended Link International Exchange for taking a pioneering step toward Pakistan’s digital and cashless transformation.

The initiative aligns with SBP’s vision of a financially inclusive and digitally empowered Pakistan, reducing reliance on cash and encouraging the adoption of formal financial channels—particularly in underserved and remote regions of the country.

With this launch, Link International Exchange reaffirms its position as a pioneer of innovation in the exchange company sector—continuing its evolution from traditional over-the-counter services toward digital, cashless, and customer-centric financial solutions that promote convenience, trust, and economic empowerment across Pakistan.
