ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL), the country’s leading telecom and ICT services provider, announced its financial results for the half year ended June 30, 2025, at a Board of Directors meeting held in Islamabad.
PTCL Group recorded a 16% year-on-year (YoY) revenue growth, maintaining its position as Pakistan’s premier integrated telecom services provider. Group revenue growth was driven by strong performance in fixed broadband, mobile data, enterprise, and carrier wholesale services.
PTCL Performance
PTCL standalone revenue increased by 12% YoY, led by a remarkable 62% growth in Flash Fiber and 15% growth in Business Solutions. Carrier and Wholesale business grew by 18%, while the international segment posted a 10% YoY increase.
The company’s operating profit reached Rs7.9 billion, up 38% from the same period last year. However, PTCL posted a net loss of Rs3.3 billion due to a one-off adjustment related to additional pension liability as per the Supreme Court’s order.
PTCL’s flagship FTTH service, Flash Fiber, continued to drive revenue growth, supported by expansion of its footprint across the country. The Business Solutions segment maintained leadership in IP bandwidth, cloud, data center, and ICT services, further strengthening Pakistan’s position as a regional connectivity hub.
During the period, PTCL signed a landmark Trans-Pakistan connectivity agreement with Chinese operators and executed submarine cable capacity sales from Singapore to Marseille, enhancing Pakistan’s role in global digital infrastructure.
The enterprise business diversified into FinTech and IoT solutions, while major government M2M deals were closed. PTCL also launched Pakistan’s first 5G-ready smart residential community and introduced automated bill delivery via WhatsApp.
Ufone 4G
Ufone 4G recorded 17% YoY topline growth, supported by cost optimization initiatives that helped deliver EBIT of Rs7.6 billion, compared to just Rs0.7 billion last year. The 4G subscriber base grew to 17.5 million, reflecting 13% YoY growth and 66% penetration.
The company launched ‘Super 5’, a shared plan for families and small teams, and its digital sub-brand Onic surpassed 300,000 subscribers, achieving 132% YoY growth.
U Microfinance Bank
U Microfinance Bank (Ubank) posted 25% YoY revenue growth by optimizing its branch network and enhancing efficiency. Its mobile wallet UPaisa crossed 1 million Monthly Active Users (MAUs), showing 155% YoY growth, while the Group’s self-care app UPTCL surpassed 5 million MAUs.
